The castle of Belloc was built during the 16th century. By the forest, right in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, it has been a family farm for several generations.

In the mid seventies Bernard Lafon created his concept of " Heritage Vegetables " in memory of his grandmother's "crazy soup" and the herbs that she used.

OH LEGUMES OUBLIESHe was trained as an engineer and abandoned his promising career for this adventure. He wanted to follow his passion through to the end, maintain his identity and rediscover the flavour of vegetables of the past.

OH LEGUMES OUBLIESBernard LAFON wished to live and respect Nature, in order to stick to his roots and rediscover the sense of Taste as well as the meaning of Life !
It is a major gamble and a real fight he invites you to, situated at the point where nature, food, economy and philosophy meet..

On his 44.478-acre farm and protected space, Bernard LAFON grows several dozens of varieties of vegetables, fruits and wild plants in a very traditional way, according to the "Organic Certification" requirements, without any fertiliser or synthesic product.

OH LEGUMES OUBLIES This enables him to guarantee his supplies, to control the origin and ensure the source of all his jams, preserves, savouries, cordials or other drinks.

CLICKIn all cases, the plants grown in this sanctuary are edible indeed. This farm has already been rewarded in 1986 with the INRA Certification (French Institute for Agronomic Research).
